       Parahongshanornis is a genus of primitive bird that lived in China during the early Cretaceous.‭ ‬The genus is noted for its similarity to another genus called Hongshanornis,‭ ‬hence the name Parahongshanornis which can be translated to English as‭ ‘‬near Hongshanornis‭’‬.
