Species: Y. sunae (type).
Diet: Herbivore.
Size: Roughly about 7 meters long for the
holotype.
Known locations: China, Yunnan Province -
Lufeng Formation.
Time period: Early Jurassic.
Fossil representation: Skull and partial post
cranial skeleton, including most vertebrae from the neck, back
pelvis and first few vertebrae of the tail, pelvis, thigh bones,
shoulder girdle and fore limbs.
Yizhousaurus
is a genus of sauropodomorph
dinosaur that lived in Asia during the
early Jurassic, and is a rare example of such a dinosaur where the
skull is known, and in an almost perfect state.
