Named By: Shikama & Ozaki - 1966.

Species: B. sanpauloensis
(type).
Diet: Carnivore.
Size: Roughly about 42-45 centimetres long for
the holotype.
Known locations: Brazil - Irati Formation.
Time period: Artinskian of the Permian.
Fossil representation: At least one individual known
by reasonably good remains.
Brazilosaurus is a relative of the better known Mesosaurus, and like Mesosaurus, Brazilosaurus was a semi-aquatic reptile that hunted for fish and other small aquatic animals in the water.
