Named By: A.‭ ‬G.‭ ‬Sennikov‭ ‬-‭ ‬2012.
Classification: Chordata,‭ ‬Reptilia,‭ ‬Protorosauria,Tanystropheidae.
Species: A.‭ ‬vatagini‭ (‬type‭)‬.
Diet: Carnivore/Piscivore‭?
Size: Uncertain due to lack of remains.
Known locations: Russia‭ ‬-‭ ‬Lipovskaya Formation.
Time period: Olenkian of the Triassic.
Fossil representation: Partial post cranial remains including cervical‭ (‬neck‭) ‬vertebrae.

       A relative of genera such as Tanystropheus and Dinocephalosaurus,‭ ‬Augustaburiania may well represent one of the oldest known tanystropheid reptiles.‭ ‬Beyond this though it is hard to be certain about more exact details of the living animal due to the current lack of more complete remains.
