A relative to genera such as Eogyrinus, Diplovertebron was a small amphibian predator that lived in the Carboniferous swamps of Europe. Overall the bone structure of Diplovertebron seems to be quite primitive, with the otic notches of the skull being very small, and the limbs being lightly built. Overall, even though Diplovertebron could probably leave the water, it was probably a far more capable hunter when in the water.
